Coronaviris is Changing Our World

The last few days have been surreal. Everything seems to be changing very quickly. It feels as though life the way we know it is about to drastically change. The coronavirus has seemingly taken over the world and people’s fears. It is amazing how quickly it has moved and developed.

Our city is being encouraged to hunker down and stay at home if possible for the next 2-3 months. Many people cannot do this, and if they are not being paid they need to be working.

I’m also amazed at the grocery and toilet paper shortage. I guess people are stocking up for their hunkering down situation. The toilet paper situation surprises me and I assume many people.

I work for a college and over the last two days numerous competing colleges in our area have announced their intention to move to online classes for the time being. Most are switching over beginning next week. Apparently, they have been working on developing this process for a couple of weeks. We however, have not done the same. As a result, we are sorely behind everyone else and this has caused some stress.

The state has moved so swiftly about closing libraries, churches, and any event that will contain over 100 people. It makes me a little worried that we won’t develop an online option quickly enough. I like feeling better prepared, especially before we are forced to do something.

I believe this virus will also cost most businesses quite a bit of money. In fact, it may be devastating to business in general. We are certainly living in an interesting time. The next few months will definitely be interesting.

  1. Same in California. It’s sad because people seems to be giving up on the virus scare like living has to halt . As long as we follow the guidelines on protecting ourselves , we have to try to live as normal as possible.
